Fun for inspiring miners of all ages! You will experience what it is truly like to be deep underground, inside a silver mine.  You will be treated to a narrated tour of the Last Chance Mine’s historic past and learn about its geology and see firsthand, the only mine, in Creede, Colorado, where you can actually see the the Amethyst Vein containing amethyst, sowbelly agate, and silver.

Tours

Appropriate attire required. – closed toe footwear

It is 54 degrees in the tunnels. Jackets or sweatshirts are recommended. 

Short Tour (15 min.) – $10.00 pp 

See the Main Haulage Tunnel, Amethyst embedded into the wall, Silver Sulphide Clay Dome.

Big Stope Tour (45 min.) – $15.00 adults/$10.00 children(ages 5-17)

See the Main Haulage Tunnel, Amethyst embedded into the wall, drill pattern set to blast, large ore stope. 

The Ballroom Tour (45 min.) – $15.00 adults/$10.00 children (ages 5-17)

See the Main Haulage Tunnel, Amethyst embedded into the wall, four tunnels with pillar, 1 1/2 foot wide Amethyst vein, the Ballroom.

Clay Dome Tour (1 hour) – $20.00 adults/$15.00 children (ages 5-17)

See the Main Haulage Tunnel, Amethyst embedded into the wall, the ballroom, pillar stopes, Amethyst veins, various mineral colors, the Speaking Gallery, and the Big Clay Dome. 

1891 Tour (1 hour) – $20 adults/$15.00 children (ages 5-17)

See the Main Haulage Tunnel, 1891 tunnels, old mine rails, ore shute junction, Glory Hole Stope (large high grade deposit).

Horseshoe Tour (1 1/2 hours) – $30 adults/$15.00 children (ages 5-17)

See historic mine tours and stopes, our widest amethyst, silver, and sowbelly agate vein measuring at about 4 feet wide. Walk up to a timber bridge area and see the future extension of the mine.
